Second Annual Membership Staff 5k Walk/Run

The Baxter YMCA is holding its 2nd Annual Membership Staff 5 K Walk/Run in the Carriage Estates neighborhood behind the YMCA.  The event will be held on Saturday, May 17 at 6:00 pm.  Though event participation is limited to staff only, we are seeking sponsorship from family, friends, and members of our YMCA to raise money for the Annual Campaign.  Last year, we raised more than $1,300.  We greatly appreciate any support you can give to this event.  Please contact Beth McMahon at (317) 865-6461 or for more information.  If you would like to donate on-line to support this event, click here.  


The Indoor Pool will be closed from 5-7pm on Friday, April 25th due to make up Swim Lessons from Easter Sunday. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but hope you will come enjoy other parts of our facility at this time.

Synergy at the Baxter YMCA

Diabetes Prevention Program

Are you at risk for developing Type II Diabetes?  Have you been told by your physician that you are pre-diabetic?  We can help!  The YMCA’s nationally recognized Diabetes Prevention Program helps you reach two lifestyle goals that will prevent or delay the onset of Type II Diabetes.  A Wednesday 5:30 PM class starts on May 7th here at Baxter, and you could be eligible to participate for FREE!  Please contact Katie Kauffman at or 317-865-6466 to register.  For more information about this nation-wide YMCA program, visit

Kid’s Zumba

Get your kids active with Kids Zumba!  Classes for 4-6 year olds and 7-11 year olds are available!  Six week session begins June 2nd!  Register at the front desk today!

Iron Month Challenge

Make May YOUR month!  Challenge yourself to complete a full ironman-that’s 2.4 miles of swimming, 112 miles of biking, and 26.2 miles of running-in one month!  Sign up for $20 at the front desk to receive your tracking sheet.  Submit the completed tracking sheet to the front desk at the end of the month and receive a t-shirt, letting everyone know that you conquered the Iron Month Challenge!

Syncronized Swimming is coming

Do you love the water but find swimming laps boring and repetitive? Well Synchronized Swimming may be the class for  you. Let our instructor help you develop body control, agility, breath control and endurance, while teaching you to swim with others to music. Synchronized Swimming provides a creative outlet!  Registration begins May 19.  The program begins June 6.

  • Preschool Martial Arts:  June 7th – July 12th
  • Gymnastics  (Mini – Movers, Tumbling Tots, Tumbling I, Tumbling II ): June 3rd  –  July 8th


World’s Largest Knockout Basketball Attempt

Want to be part of the Guinness Book of World Record history? Participate in the world’s largest knockout basketball attempt at Center Grove Middle School Central on Sunday, April 27 at 12 pm.
