The Impact
For more than 40 years, the Boone County YMCA has been changing lives and strengthening our community by promoting values like caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Right now the YMCA operates in limited space but uses other facilities around the Lebanon community to teach classes like First Aid, Pilates and children’s theater. Even without their own facility, the Y has made a tremendous impact in Boone County and serves more than 2,000 people in the area.
Construction began in December 2009 on a new 35,000 sq. ft. YMCA facility located on the Witham Hospital campus. This partnership resulted in the opening of the Witham Family YMCA in November of 2010.
The Facility
The Witham Family YMCA is a state-of-the-art facility that will serve all residents of Boone County. The Y offers a location for people to pursue healthier lifestyles by accessing the most modern workout equipment, nutrition counseling and supportive staff. Lifelong health enthusiasts and first time health seekers alike will find a home at the new Witham Family YMCA.
The YMCA will increase the number of people served in Boone County to 11,000 people in personalized wellness programs, swim lessons, teen character development and much more.
For the first time, all of these activities will be housed under one roof. The building will feature:

- Wellness Center
- Child Watch Center
- Men’s, Women’s, and Family/Special Needs locker rooms
- Health Education/Community Room
