2009-2010 Before and After School Program
Did you know the YMCA is one of the largest,most trusted providers of School Age Child Care? At the West District YMCA we are committed to developing programs that give children the support they need to become successful adults. We utilize the YMCA of the USA's School-Age Curriculum that focuses on the following core content:
Arts and Humanities
Character Development
Health, Wellness and Fitness
Homework Support
Literacy
Science and Technology
Service Learning
Social Competency and Conflict Resolution
Before & After School Program is available in the following school districts:Wayne Township,Avon Community School Corporation, Brownsburg School Corporation,and Plainfield School Corporation.
Weather Related or Other Program Closing Information
Snow Day Programs: If school is closed prior to 6:00 A.M. due to inclement weather, a program will be held at branch locations and other predetermined school sites. Please check with your site director for locations available in your school district. The West District Snow Day site is Bridgeport
Elementary
Inclement Weather Policy/School Delays: If the start of school is delayed, the YMCA staff will make every effort to be at your child’s school by the
designated start time. On these days, the staff will stay until school begins. If your child is a morning participant, there are no extra fees for these days. If your child attends after school only and you wish to use this service, you may register for the 1-2 day rate on these days.
Please Note: If school is cancelled during a delay, our program will be
cancelled as well. Parents or their designee will be responsible for picking their child up as soon as possible. If school is dismissed early due to weather
conditions, there will be no YMCA program. Any exceptions to this will be communicated to you at your child’s site.
School's Out Camp
Parent’s work schedules do not always match children’s school vacation days. The YMCA School’s Out Camp program is available during Fall, Winter and Spring Breaks and any special holidays. Contact the West District YMCA office for registration information.
Any school age child (5-12) can participate. Please register your child one week in advance of the School’s Out Camp.
Fee: $33/day or $124/week
Locations: Bridgeport and/or Westlake Elementary Schools, Clark’s Creek Elementary-Plainfield, Avon Intermediate West – Avon Community Schools, Brownsburg East Middle School – Brownsburg School Corporation.
Kids' Night Out
Enjoy an evening out while we entertain you kids at the West District YMCA Program Office. Crafts, games, physical activities and lots of fun! Light dinner and snack are served. 2nd Friday of each month. Ages 3-12 (child must be potty trained

Please register the Tuesday before the scheduled event.
Fee: $20.00/per child/$10.00 each additional sibling
