Urban Mission Day Camps Red Maple Grove & Municipal Gardens Day Camps
This past week was a fun filled week! Our Red Maple Grove and Municipal Gardens Camps went to Kid's Day at the Indiana Black Expo. They jumped in the bounce house, danced, sang, and won cool prizes. On Thursday all of our camps went to the UniverSoul Circus. We saw acrobats from around the world, elephants, tigers, and even dancing poodles! 21st Century Camp Site @ Howe
Our Howe campers had a blast during their last week of camp. In addition to participating in a range of activities (such as arts & crafts, weight training, and playing a group game of basketball), the Howe campers went to Garfield Park, the UniverSoul Circus and a Fever game. The played a tight match. Unfortunately they lost, but our campers had a wonderful time. Mentor Me Camp
This week was packed with activity for the Mentor Me campers. They went to City Yoga, Splash Island, a Fever game, the UniverSoul Circus, and took a college tour at Ball State. The mentees had a blast at the Fever game having the opportunity to tour a great college campus like Ball State was awesome and going to City Yoga was a great experience as many of the campers had never participated in a yoga class before. From Day 1
The From Day 1 camp continues to move through their curriculum based on the Seven Habits of Highly Effective Teens. However, last week they got out of the classroom and explored the great outdoors. They had an adventurous time at the Peace Learning Center in Eagle Creek Park. The Center staff lead the campers through activities that helped them work on our leadership skills, improve communication, and to think outside of the box. They also lead the campers on a hike through the park where they listened to the different sounds of nature and explored what different types of animals lived in the area.
