Is the weather making you wonder if the Outdoor Pool is open?
The Outdoor Pool will remain open during light rain. Once the rain is heavy enough to distort the surface of the water, our lifeguards will close the pool because they can’t see the bottom of the pool. The Outdoor Pool will close upon the first sighting of lighting and/or the first sound of thunder. It will reopen 30 minutes AFTER the last sighting of lighting and/or the last clap of thunder. We try to update the status of the pool on the website and Facebook, but because the weather changes so quickly, it is not always possible. Please feel free to call the center at 317.881.9347 for the most up-to-date information.
Summer Day Camp + Summer Swim Lessons = Super Summer!
Is your child signed up for Summer Day Camp? Let your child’s Camp Counselor bring her to Summer Camp Swim Lessons during the camp day. Classes will be offered 2 times a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Sign up today at or member services desk. For more information on class times and level offerings please contact Aquatic’s Coordinator Wendy Medeiros at 317-865-6472 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Annual Campaign
Do you know about our Annual Campaign? Donations from our members and community make it possible to provide all of our valuable services to families in need. Stop at the front desk today to see how you can make a difference in someone’s life by donating to the Baxter YMCA Annual Campaign.
LIVESTRONG at the YMCA
In 2008, the YMCA of the USA partnered with LIVESTRONG® to help cancer survivors begin the journey toward recovery with the LIVESTRONG at the YMCA program. Part of the Y’s commitment to strengthening community through healthy living, the program offers adults affected by cancer a safe, supportive environment to participate in physical and social activities focused on strengthening the whole person-not the disease. The free, 12–week program meets twice a week for 90 minutes, using traditional exercise methods to ease survivors back into fitness and help maintain a healthy weight. Read more…
