What‘s New @ Baxter YMCA
Outdoor Pool Weather Policy
We try to keep updates posted on the Arthur R. Baxter YMCA Facebook page and here, on our website. However, because weather can change quickly, please make note of our weather policy regarding the outdoor pool.
The Outdoor Pool will remain open during light rain. Once the rain is heavy enough to distort the surface of the water, our lifeguards will close the pool because they can’t see the bottom of the pool.
The Outdoor Pool will CLOSE upon the first sighting of lighting and/or the first sound of thunder. It will reopen 30 minutes AFTER the last sighting of lighting and/or the last clap of thunder.

LIVESTRONG at the YMCA
In 2008, the YMCA of the USA partnered with LIVESTRONG® to help cancer survivors begin the journey toward recovery with the LIVESTRONG at the YMCA program. Part of the Y’s commitment to strengthening community through healthy living, the program offers adults affected by cancer a safe, supportive environment to participate in physical and social activities focused on strengthening the whole person-not the disease. The free, 12–week program meets twice a week for 90 minutes, using traditional exercise methods to ease survivors back into fitness and help maintain a healthy weight. Read more…
