Learn more about our Wellness Coaching Program!

Wellness Coaching is offered to all YMCA members ages 18 and older, and each member may schedule up to five free appointments with a Wellness Coach.  Scheduled at the Member Services Desk or in the Wellness Center, these appointments are tailored to meet your individual needs.  During a series of one-on-one appointments, your certified Wellness Coach will help you develop an exercise routine to help you reach your fitness goals, which can include an orientation to the cardiovascular equipment, strength training machines and free weight area.  Your Wellness Coach can also assist you in building a personalized strength and cardiovascular program through our computerized exercise tracking program, ActivTrax. 

Silver Sneakers and Active Older Adult Classes

We have a variety of group exercise classes for all ages and fitness levels. 
Improve your balance and muscle strength in our Balance, Strength & Coordination class with Annie on Mondays from 9-9:45 a.m. 
If you’re looking for more variety, join Certified Personal Trainer and Silver Sneakers Instructor Jim Gould on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9-9:45 a.m. for Silver Sneakers Classic and Cardio classes.

Fall is officially on its way and so is our Youth Fall Programming.  Now is a perfect time to get your kiddos enrolled in some fun classes!  They will enjoy ballet, gymnastics and even Fit Kwon Do!  Questions about the classes?  E-mail Shael Weidenbach at sweidenbach@indymca.org

Safe Sitter

Teens will learn more than just babysitting basics.  They’ll learn the life and safety skills any teen should have before babysitting or staying home alone and the sensible decision-making skills you, as a parent, need for them to have.

Local Diners Dinner Club @ Pizzology

Since we had to unexpectedly cancel dinner club last month, let’s try heading to Pizzology for October! Let’s dine at the newest addition to Mass Ave and enjoy some Neapolitan style pizza, delicious breadsticks and killer salads. Please make sure to RSVP in the wellness center!

Leave a Legacy

Many of us have Y stories.  We learned to swim at the Y as kids.  We participated in a youth basketball league, or we enrolled our children in summer camp.    
Even so, many people get only a small glimpse of what the Y does.  During my 17 years working for the Y,  I’ve had a chance to see what we really accomplish as a nonprofit in Indianapolis.  We give everyone a chance to get healthier, help kids learn and graduate from school, and teach lessons about core values and leadership.  When these things happen, everyone in the community wins, including you and I.   That’s why I give something back to the YMCA out of each paycheck.  It’s important to me . . . important enough that I hope you’ll think about joining me with a donation today.
