What‘s New @ YMCA at the Athenaeum
Parking Lot Closure
This Saturday December 7th, the Athenaeum Parking lot will be closed starting at 6am for the 5th Annual Indiana German Historical Society’s 5K/5Mile race.
Last year the race attracted over 600 participants, who will start and finish the event in front of the YMCA. Our Y is still open for business at 7am. The parking lot will be re-opened by 1:00pm.
Thank you for your flexibility!
Breakfast with Santa
Our annual Breakfast with Santa event serves children and their families from local shelters. A hot breakfast at the Rathskeller, Christmas presents, a magic show and a visit from Santa! Shelters are overflowing this year. Your participation can make a huge impact. How you can help:
-Donate a book. Choose an ornament from our tree and help every child have a quality book of their very own.
-Donate money. Your contribution helps buy presents and all the other essentials that make this event happen.
-Donate your time. Sign up at the Member Service Desk to volunteer!

Jan Local Diners Dinner Club
Thursday, Jan 16, 6:30-8 p.m.
January makes for a pretty cold month in Indianapolis. Falling snow, brisk winds and icy sidewalks. The perfect compliment to these wintery conditions is warm food! Thats why we picked Smokehouse BBQ in Fountain Square as our January dinner club stop. Enjoy a warm beef brisket, or creamy mac and cheese. A perfect comfort food spot for a cold day.
Interested? Please RSVP at the front desk or contact Laura Walters at firstname.lastname@example.org
Leave a Legacy
Many of us have Y stories. We learned to swim at the Y as kids. We participated in a youth basketball league, or we enrolled our children in summer camp.
Even so, many people get only a small glimpse of what the Y does. During my 17 years working for the Y, I’ve had a chance to see what we really accomplish as a nonprofit in Indianapolis. We give everyone a chance to get healthier, help kids learn and graduate from school, and teach lessons about core values and leadership. When these things happen, everyone in the community wins, including you and I. That’s why I give something back to the YMCA out of each paycheck. It’s important to me . . . important enough that I hope you’ll think about joining me with a donation today.
Make a world of difference for someone right here in our community.
