Robert Amaya To Speak at 45th Annual Good Friday Breakfast

Press Release, 2/25/2012

The YMCA of Greater Indianapolis is inviting the community to its 45th Annual Good Friday Breakfast, which is being held at 7 a.m., March 29 at the Indiana Roof Ballroom, 140 W. Washington St, Indianapolis. The event is free to the community and a free will offering will be collected at the conclusion of the program. Attendees must register in advance at www.OurCauseIsYou.org by March 22.

Each year this event brings more than 800 local community leaders, churches and residents together for an inspirational morning of praise and fellowship. This year’s featured guest speaker is Robert Amaya, bilingual actor/singer, who is best known for his role as Javier Martinez in the Sherwood Film, Courageous.

Amaya said he felt humbled and honored playing the character of Javier because it reminded him of his own father’s struggles to survive in a new country with a family. Between projects, Robert travels across the nation singing and speaking at both English and Spanish churches, schools, and organizations about a variety of topics including fatherhood, honor and Christianity.

For the past three years, the Y has been able to offer this event at no cost to the community. This was only made possible due to the generous donations from our sponsors whose contributions help offset event costs.

“This is my first year leading the YMCA Good Friday Breakfast and I’m already anticipating God’s presence at this powerful and moving service,” said Carol Fread, Chair, YMCA Good Friday Breakfast Committee.

Additional sponsorships are still needed to help underwrite the costs of the breakfast. For more information or to help support this event, call 317-266-9622 or visit www.OurCauseIsYou.org. Doors will open at 6:45 a.m. and guests are encouraged to arrive early. Parking is available in the Circle Center Sun Garage, 48 W. Maryland St., Indianapolis.
